12 July 2023

Abdullah Tanseer and Haider Mustafa Qureshi from Bahawalpur created the world's largest planted word formation using 3,296 indigenous saplings.

Full Article

Two young men from Bahawalpur, Abdullah Tanseer and Haider Mustafa Qureshi, set a new world record for the largest planted word formation by arranging 3,296 saplings of an indigenous species to spell out the word 'TAKMEEL' over an area of 1,200 square feet. The record-breaking project was carried out in collaboration with Takmeel Square officials and PakSarZameen, with saplings carefully selected in consultation with the Department of Forestry to ensure suitability for the region. The process began with chalk outlines followed by participants digging, planting, and watering the plants. Independent verification was conducted throughout to ensure accuracy. Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement on Tuesday, making Tanseer and Qureshi the first Pakistanis to set a world record in this category. The two men expressed hope that their achievement will inspire other young people to engage in environmental conservation efforts.
