Full Article

The record-breaking tree planting campaign in Bahawalpur was launched in collaboration with students, educational institutions including Islamia University Bahawalpur, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Government Sadiq College Women University, and the City School. Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar inaugurated the campaign where saplings were distributed at 13 different points across a nine-mile area. The initiative aimed to surpass India's Uttar Pradesh record of 76,000 saplings. A dedicated data centre was established at Government Sadiq Dane High School to process and maintain records for Guinness representatives' inspection. Citizens, including students and community members, participated enthusiastically in transporting, planting, and watering the native saplings across different locations in the city.
